All of our designs can be made to order in any measurements including plus size dimensions.

It is important for all of our clients who are considering having a piece of clothing made to order to realize shopping for a piece of clothing (like a blouse or church dress) off the rack is completely different than having a special occasion formal wear piece made to order.  Most people will try on a blouse and if it does not lay on them correctly will keep shopping until they find one that does.  With wedding gowns, mother of the bride dresses and designer evening dresses (that can be made to measure) it is a completely different situation.  Once you find a design (either in a photo or in person) that meets your personal needs, specifications and desires then you need to have that item produced specifically for you – not just ordered close to your unique size and then tailored.

Most of the evening gowns, mother of the groom & wedding dresses that you would try on from off the rack were of course not made for your specific body shape and length.  That is why many times a designer dress can look good on a hanger and then that very same designer gown will look totally different once you place it on your body.

It is important for all of our evening wear and bridal gown clients (of all sizes) to understand there is a huge difference between choosing a item from off the rack, having it made in a size close to you and then having multiple (expensive) fittings to change the design and to get the items to lay on your correctly…..versus….simply have your formal gown made to order based on your personal preferences, needs and according to your specific body shape, size and proportions.  For instance you can have two women who are both considered a plus size 2x but one torso length is 18 inches and the other women’s length is 22.  They can try on the very same wedding gown and each of them will look totally different – regardless of the style they are considering.  Where as when that same design (lets just say it is an empire waist line) is made to order for each individual person the outcome will be totally different and much more appealing as the garment will be cut according to the individuals proportions and not a stock size.

Many times (brides more so) will question well how will I know if a dress in a picture will look good on my frame or be flattering to my full figured frame.  The answer to that is simple.  Ask your self a series of questions.  What part of my body do I know I want to cover up?  What part of my body do I know I want to show and reveal?  Does the garment in the photo meet those needs?  If it does (either as shown or with some changes like adding a sleeve, changing the neck line, etc...)  Then you already know it has passed your personal preference test.  The only ting left to do is to now have that design (as shown or with your personal preference changes) made to your exact body shape so that the design will lay on your body where you need it to lay – unlike any item that you would try on off the rack.  Use the torso example above as reference.

Hopefully the difference between off the rack and made to order will make sense to you and you will see that trying to use fit or trying on as criteria for if a dress will look good on or not is not the best criteria to use – when working with a fashion designer who can produce a garment made to order.  You can not go into a made to order experience with an off the rack mentality as the two ways of purchasing are completely different regardless of if you are a petite or plus sized full figured woman.  Hopefully looking at this process in this light will ease some of the stress and allow you to move forward with greater ease and assurance that as professionals who have been in the business for over a decade we will do our best to make sure the garment have made especially for you will not only look good on but be a sure knock for any type of special occasion be it wedding or social event.
